Love my scanner
Love my scanner. The hardware has been flawless. The software is what really makes this a great product. It simplifies the scanning process significantly. I have scanned several things around the house and used the meshes to design custom mounting brackets that I then 3d printed.

This scanner appears to be well built, but it is not plug and play, on my Dell machine anyway
This appears to be a nice scanner, packaged well with correct accesories, but I have had nothing but trouble getting this to work. Loaded their software on a Dell workstation with win10. Software and scanner show up and are recognized, but will not run. Customer service, which is limited to night time hours is difficult to get as they are in China, so you are at their mercy as to when they will help you. I have been unable to get connected to a technician for help. If you dont mind jumping through hoops on their terms, you might get the scanner working. But the problem could be on my computer, but getting customer service to help find the problem, is a problem.Update: Revopoint technician helped me after four days of trying to get help, and tried everything to get this working without success. I discovered the problem, a Windows update, after hours of trying to figure it out. The problem was on my side, not a Revopoint problem. Revopoint had never seen this before. I am happy with this scanner so far, but the problem was me, not Revopoint

Easy to implement out of the box
The Revopoint MINI 2 was remarkably easy to impalement out of the box. You can install the phone app and be pretty much instantly on your way. I chose to install the software and connect it to my Windows PC. The main scanning unit came with a small USB powered turntable. The full kit also came with a larger turntable. The turntable can be controlled via the onboard switches or via bluetooth. While the implementation was simple and I was off and running within 30 minutes (most of that reading instructions) - the software is not so intuitive, especially if you are new to 3D scanning. You will want to educate yourself with reading and YouTube videos to get the best quality scans. This unit is flexible and works great with smaller objects. It is a little more challenging to scan larger objects where you are holding and moving the camera by hand, but still effective. The package contains dots, but it would have been nice if they included a small sampler of 3D scanning spray (much needed when scanning dark objects). Lighting is also important - I use a light box.Overall, the unit is quite impressive in it own rite - we sure have come a long way in 3D scanners for the consumer - but may be a bit pricey for those just starting to get their feet wet.

first impressions will update after further use and testing
So far I’ve only scan a few doll parts which are pretty small and the whole reason why I got the mini2 and I used my phone for that quick test it did pretty great. I got the deluxe version for the double axis turn table, that didn’t work out of the box. I tried contacting Amazon for a replacement of just the turntable but they were useless about it since it’s sold by third party so beware of that, luckily I figured if the dumb power cord it came with that is the issue, I have another one with same specs and the turn table actually works now so if you are having trouble with it, the thing might not be broken is just the power cord, besides that I have not been able to properly set it up on a computer and I tried handheld tracking but I might be shaky or it kind looses tracking and takes a bit to re orient

So many improvements for a scanner at this price!
Over the years I've owned a few scanners and they're constantly improving. That's not to say they are automatic or in the realm of science fiction-like accuracy. You'll still need to use scanning spray or tracking dots on some items, plus learn some 3rd party software. What's included is good - but you'll need and want more - and there are plenty of free software options and tutorials. This is hands-down much better than my previous three scanners and easier to use. Just expect a learning curve - lighting, placement, the objects color and texture - it all plays a roll. I do like that this scanner handles black and dark objects well, and that it's portable and compact.

Great Small Object Scanner!
The Revopoint MINI 2 is a compact and affordable 3D scanner that is capable of high precision scans. This handheld scanner uses blue light to quickly capture 3D models of objects that are roughly the size of a human head or smaller. Some key features include a maximum resolution of 0.02mm and full color texture capture. The accompanying software is easy to use and allows for quick and automatic processing of scan data. Scanned models can be exported in common 3D file formats for use with 3D printing or other purposes.Overall, the MINI 2 performs well for its size. The high precision scans allow for accurate reproduction of small objects and details. The compact size also makes it portable for capturing 3D models on the go. For hobbyists or professionals needing an affordable desktop 3D scanner, the Revopoint MINI 2 is a solid option.
